In a business, a quotation letter or email remains among the most common or popular business communications. A quotation letter, when put simply, is a letter that is written for the purpose of indicating the price of a product or service and terms & conditions of business. The letter is often written by the service or product supplier to a potential client, a business, or a person, because of a request or inquiry that was made.

There are a number of businesses that may require sending a quotation email. These businesses include an electronics shop, businesses that deal with the selling of furniture, construction businesses, repair and maintenance businesses, and suppliers of agricultural products among other businesses.

There are two main types of quotations and those are Product Price Quotation and Service Price Quotation Letter.

Product Price Quotation Letter

The product price quotation letter as the name suggests covers the particular products offered by the business which a potential client has requested. For example, the products provided in a quotation letter by a hardware business, requested by a client, may contain the price and quantity or type of nails, cement, electrical supplies, windows, and doors among others.

How Should You Ask or Replay to a Quotation Request?

In conclusion, the way you will write a quotation letter will heavily depend on the relationship that exists between you, the business, and of course the client. It is often recommended that the quotation letter should always remain as professional as possible. It is important that the letter be as courteous, precise, and concise as possible.
